Spritz Time!

Spritz in the Piazza, OstuniSpring is in the air, the big black puffer jackets that the Italians seem to favour, are off, and there is a sense that summer isn’t far away now.

So, time for an afternoon Spritz!

What better way to relax, take in the warm spring air, than with a refreshing, vibrant Aperol Spritz and some ‘Stuzzichini’. That’s a prosecco with aperol liquore and soda water, with a few little nibbles!

Italians are very sociable people and they enjoy nothing more than a good gossip and a drink with friends in the Piazza, and with some food of course.

Aperol was created in Padua, Italy in 1919, so it’s not just a ‘Puglian Pleasure’ but is enjoyed throughout Italy! The fact that the alcohol content is roughly 11% makes it an easy drinking cocktail to be enjoyed anytime of the day!

How to create the perfect Spritz

It’s simple, you just need to remember to ‘321’ method:

Three parts Prosecco
Two parts Aperol
One part soda water

Grab a handful of ice, add the Aperol, Prosecco, top with a splash of soda water and garnish with a slice of orange.

Sit back, relax and enjoy!
