About Me!

Posing against an Olive tree!
Posing against an Olive tree!

Turns out, turning 40 wasn’t so bad after all! In fact, 40 is the new 20, right? Well, I certainly have a new zest for life, I feel more confident, stronger, and I’m ready to embrace the next chapter in my life! I’m living ‘La Dolce Vita’ in Puglia! And I want to share all the best bits of this beautiful region with you!

So, how did I end up here? Long story really. Are you ready? I was born in Blackburn, NW England, moved ‘Down South’ to Swindon, East to a small village in Cambridgeshire, then headed across the pond to America, Atlanta, Georgia to be more precise. Then back to Swindon before embarking on a completely different pace of life in Puglia.

So why Puglia? This is a question I get asked a lot here! ‘Perché no!’ ‘Why not’ I reply! There are so many positive factors that the locals sometimes take for granted: delicious fresh food, fantastic wine (this was a big plus for me!), beautiful beaches, loads of unique places to visit and of course ‘c’è sole’, there’s plenty of sunshine!

More boring background information about me (if you’re still interested!) …..
I completed my Open University BSc Degree in Business and ICT in 2012 and previously worked for some big ‘white collar companies’, Intel, Motorola, RWE NPower, British Aerospace and The Royal Australia Air Force. I have worked as a PA, a Systems Trainer and a Project Manager and when I was living in the States, I had my own Web design business.

Back to Puglia
There is so much more to the Pugliese people than just their love of pasta and ‘al mare’ (the sea) and I want to share this with you. This blog covers all aspects of Puglian life: culture, traditions, events and local food and wine.

Feel free to like, comment, share, and get involved, this is 2 dimensional site and I would be thrilled if you got involved too. I’d love to hear your views, stories, news and events happening in this beautiful ‘heel of Italy’.

Happy reading!
